The Story

The minimalism of the Mino-Yaki Angle Bud Vase brings the daintiest of blooms to the fore. Faceted like a diamond, its neat geometry gives it a sleek but soft elegance. Each has a mottled glaze to reveal a subtle hint of the Japanese Mino-ware porcelain below.

Mino-yaki dates as far back as the Nara Period 710-794. Produced in the old Mino Province, in present-day Gifu Prefecture, it became popular for traditional tea ceremony vessels. Today, the styles of Mino-yaki are as varied as they are beautiful — from the warm rustic glazes of hand-thrown traditional Kiso Seto, Black Seto, Shino and Oribe ware to the soft pastels of modern tableware.
